The screen company behind the screens
Who we are, what we sell, and how a DIY door screen gets to your door.
What we actually are
We are an online shop. We hold stock, we sell direct to the public across New Zealand, and we ship it to you. There is no showroom to walk into, no van, and nobody who turns up at your house.
That is deliberate, and it is most of the reason a screen from us costs what it does. The ten minutes of fitting that an installer would charge for is the part you do yourself.
Why a door screen has to close itself
Most door screens fail the same way. They work perfectly when you have a free hand, and the rest of the time they get propped open with a foot, a bag or a knee, and the flies walk in behind you.
That is the whole reason we sell magnetic screens. Heavy duty magnets run down the centre seam, so you walk at it, it opens, and it pulls itself shut again while your hands are still full. Nothing to slide, nothing to swing, nothing to remember.
Fitted in minutes, and it comes down again
The door hangs on a sewn hook and loop frame. Nothing is drilled and nothing is screwed into the frame, so it goes up in about ten minutes and comes off at the end of the season without marking anything, which matters if you rent.
Doors run from 60cm to 180cm wide and 180cm to 240cm high, in black and in white. Measure the opening, order the size that covers it, and trim the top if you need to. If your doorway is an unusual size, ask us for a custom quote rather than guessing.
Being straight about what we do not do
We do not install, we do not measure up, and we do not repair a screen you bought somewhere else. A mesh screen is an insect screen: it is not a security product, and it is not a barrier for a child or a determined pet. If you need any of that, you need a different trade, and we would rather say so now.
What we sell
Magnetic fly screen doors
Black or white, from 60cm to 180cm wide and 180cm to 240cm high. Heavy duty magnets down the centre so it closes behind you, on a sewn hook and loop frame that fits in minutes with no screws and no nails.
Curtain doors
An eco friendly polyester string curtain in black or white for a doorway you walk straight through, and an anodised aluminium chain curtain for a doorway that never closes at all.
Swatters, fans and repairs
A hand made leather swatter on a 43cm metal handle, a five pack of plastic ones, a low voltage electric racket, a table fan that keeps flies off the food, and self adhesive tape for patching a screen that has been caught.
